The National Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate (NaMED) recently conducted a Capacity Building Needs Assessment (CBNA), commissioned in July 2023 with support from the European Union under the State Building Contract Phase III. The assessment, carried out by an independent consultant, evaluated NaMED’s institutional and human capacities, focusing on sustainable systems, staff relations, and the qualifications of staff across various directorates. A one-day national stakeholder validation workshop was held in Freetown, bringing together key stakeholders to provide final input and validate the report. NaMED’s Director General emphasized the importance of stakeholder input for the institution’s development, with participants contributing to the final draft of the assessment report.
